Lesson 5 of 25
A sweep runs the level and comes straight back
Price pokes past the high or low, takes the stops, then closes back inside within a candle or three.
What you see
- Sharp spike beyond the level.
- Long wick, small body.
- Close back on the original side.
Why it happens
- The pool was the target, not the breakout.
- Once filled, price reverses toward the other side.
How to trade it
- Sweep alone is not a trade.
- Wait for the close back through the level.
- Stop beyond the sweep wick, target the opposite pool.
Journal it: Log sweep, reclaim time, and where price went next.
